Abstract

|
The purpose of this experimental study is to compare the patency rate, incidence of aneurysm and suturing time of modified interrupted suturing technique with those of conventional interrupted continuous suturing technique, and Dr. Chen¡¯s spiral interrupted suturing technique.
Sixty anastomoses were carried out on carotid artery of the rats, fifteen of interrupted suturing technique, fifteen of spiral interrupted suturing technique, fifteen of continuous
suturing technique and fifteen of modified interrupted suturing technique.
As the result, compared to conventional interrupted suturing technique, the modified interrupted suturing technique has a similar patency rate, but the advantage of less suturing time and better lumen visialization
On the whole, modified interrupted suturing technique is a useful method for
microanastomosis and should be considered as alternative method among the
armamentarium of conventional suturing technique.
